Aisling B a was born on 16 March, 1984 in Kildare Ireland. The comedian appeared on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea is a popular Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea, who began appearing as bit roles on Irish or British TV shows in 2009, made her debut by performing stand-up comedy in 2011. The comedian began to appear often on sketch comedy and sitcoms later in the year. In 2012, after winning an award in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to be booked regularly for numerous panel shows for which she was a frequent guest. From 2016 to 2017 she was a team captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and is a frequent contestant in the show's follow-up show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Parents are Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has an older sister named Sinead. She was the winner of the So You think You're Funny Award twice. Her surname honors the memory of her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh, O'Sullivan is the daughter of a Kildare born girl. She was born March 16th 1984. Bea's father Brian who was an equine vet, who took his own life at the age of three when Bea turned three was an victim of self-harm. She was told about his death only at the age of thirteen. The stage name Bea was a tribute for her father. She published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017, about her experience of suicide. Bea along with her younger sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) who was a secondary school teacher and jockey trainer, as well as a professional jockey for a time. The family was awed by horses, races and the racing industry. Bea started out her career as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud. However Bea realized at an early age that the racing industry wasn't the right fit for her.
